While most exam rooms feature basic components that have been standardized for many years; their size, interior layout, aesthetics, and relationship to adjacent spaces are evolving.
During the space planning and designing of the Exam Room for Geriatric Patient Care, this design solution considered various behavioral concerns of the Geriatric population such as impaired vision and hearing, along with incontinence and frailty. The fabrics, furnishings, and fixtures of the space were chosen to correspond to these needs. The layout of the Exam Room clearly designates sections of changing, examination and consultation to ensure some transitions in the room.
